You live in the profane world that has been created. Humans seek liberation from the solitude brought about by life, and that wish can only be fulfilled through death. However, the living also obtains eroticism of dissolving individuality and fusion with all other beings by touching death, albeit in a pseudo manner. olo memento is the third world that connects the two worlds of life and death and tries to create moments that breathe air in ordinary everyday life.

His parents had believed in a religion called Nichiren-Shoshu in Japan. He grew up surrounded by beautiful things such as religious sculptures. However, his parents' relationship was feeble, and there was always a dissonance in his house. His imagination was born in an environment where dissonance, made by negative emotions of humans, and prayer to God were always mixed. In graduate school, he devoted himself to Freud's and Nietzsche's philosophies, interweaving his own experience and exploring the affirmation of trauma and the value of imperfections. For him, art is a ritual that sublimates the pain of life into elegance.

Since childhood, mason kodera has been attracted to mass-produced products and commercial art, such as games, anime, toys, etc., that are created to be experienced by more people than one-off art. He studied design at Tama Art University, and after graduating, moved to New York to get his MFA in Communications Design at Pratt Institute. He verbalized the feeling of eroticism and explored design that utilizes that philosophy. He also launched an art toy brand, olo memento, while studying at university. He built his world and characters based on the idea of eroticism, working as a place for free expression that is not bound by traditional media. He sees design as functional art and treats advertising and product design as mediums that manipulate people’s consciousness.
